SCREENING IT OUT (photo art) & THIS TINY BEDROOM (free verse dream poem) by Roswila

THIS TINY BEDROOM

there simply must be a way
to share this tiny bedroom with him
and still each of us maintain
a sense of personal, even private, space

I've had to share all sorts of rooms
over the years -- shelves packed with books,
for instance, make good room dividers --
but never with someone so much younger
than I, just his energy alone
is a bit invasive

but I'll cope, I've dealt with far worse
through the decades and, look!
I've fit all our things in here now
with a decent swath of open floor space
between his and my bedroom sets

the perfect spot for an intricately carved
mahogany screen to mark the Rubicon's edge

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
