TURNING POINT (photo) & THE PATH (dream tanka and dreamku) by Roswila

THE PATH

two men fall for
the same vaguely fey beauty
one, buck toothed and young
the other, older and handsome –
the young one watches and waits

his wistfulness swirls
then trails away whispering
“You've trod this path before”

[a tanka and dreamku on a dream of 10-17-11. I’ve been having a lot of dreams recently about, shall I say, “hooking up.” So this old dream/ku seems quite relevant. On another topic altogether, I’ve found a work around for that blogger photo posting problem I was having. Odd thing is, the problem was first reported and supposedly fixed in early January, at which time they announced a work around. Well, of course their work around is no longer effective or maybe it just doesn’t work on my old computer. But their instructions gave me the idea for how I'm now getting coding for photo posting. BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO DREAMKU (& PHOTOS): The dream-based poems posted on this blog -- dreamku, tanka, two-liners, and monoku -- are offered in the spirit of collaboration. I have done my part. Now it’s your turn to jump in and see what comes up for you. I.e., there is no right or wrong way to understand or interpret any of these dream offerings. Even my own understandings of them change over time. And it gives me joy when a reader sees something in any of them that I have not.

For more in-depth exploration:

-- very brief comparison of dreamku and haiku: DREAMKU ARE NOT HAIKU
