INDULGENCE

the young new lovers
hide away in a motel
they’re FBI
co-workers and shouldn’t
hook up this way at all

alternately sating
their sexual hunger and
lolling about in bed
leaves them starved for a meal
plus it’s Thanksgiving Day

they’re not willing to
eat in a restaurant nor
to go get take-out
they put their pretty heads
together: they’ll order in

he phones to have the
sixty thousand foot cable
laid for delivery
they turn to each other again
how far can indulgence go
