WISTFUL AFTERNOON (photo) & "how sad this beauty..." (non-dream haiku) by Roswila
how sad this beauty,
slicing like a myriad
of tiny paper cuts
[non-dream (kinda, sorta) haiku, written 2-20-18. I say "kinda, sorta" haiku as it's all one sentence and about a personal inner response. Although neither are total "no-no's" within the parameters I attempt to adhere to in writing haiku, I do much prefer it when I can hew to two separate sections in a 'ku and to it being rather more than less "objective" in tone. Oh, and I forgot to mention, similes/metaphors are pretty much frowned upon in haiku. Though one does run across them in translations of the Japanese Masters. However, I've always wondered if they are explicit in the original Japanese, or have been introduced in the English translations. Photo "Wistful Afternoon" (11-2-17 023v2) by Roswila]
There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
