CLIMBING THE SKY (photo) & SEEN FROM AFAR (free verse dream poem) by Roswila
SEEN FROM AFAR
a hot summer's afternoon by the lake:
children clamber up the extremely high
vertical wood panels on two sides
of the dark water (how do they find
toe- and finger-holds for even their small
digits along the seams of the panels?)
as soon as several dark haired imps reach
the top they start shoving resistant
cud-chewing cows over into the water
from the sweltering mesa that surrounds
the paneled lake, jumping after the bovines
into the embracing water
when the sun starts to set, the dripping
wet cows begin a slow amble up
the long spiraling path around the lake
behind the panels, back to the mesa
even as the children climb the panels again
out of the water (no rock climbers more
impressive than they) to leap silently
once more like thoughts suddenly released,
back into the waiting water
that equally silently closes over them
[free verse poem on a dream of 5-18-16. Don't ask me, dunnoh what this one's about. At least not fully yet. I do have some thoughts but have a feeling I should release them and see what happens. Photo "Climbing the Sky" (4-21-16 024v3) by Roswila]
There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
