WHEEL OF NIGHT (photomorph) & NO ONE EVER SAID (free verse dream poem) by Roswila
NO ONE EVER SAID
like a frame out of an old Busby Berkeley
movie dance number, the women's legs
spread out in the air, thighs at the center,
feet at the edges, spokes in an odd wheel
of fortune awaiting its next spin
from behind, a woman's puzzled face
peers through the spaces between
this suspended array of bare gams
is she exploring? hiding? can she
even breathe from way back there?
what will she do when the inevitable
rapid spinning starts up again?
well, no one ever said
that this life would be
a walk in the park
[free verse poem on a dream of 2-7-16. Photomorph "Wheel of Night" (12-3-15 007v3a) by Roswila]
There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
