QUERULOUS

sigh, again nearly
zero dream recall, and that bit
that's shy of zero?
it's not like fairy dust for flying
just fine grit that can't be seen

how disappointing,
especially when she'd planted
a wish before sleep
("incubated" as they say)
for help with a quagmire mood

but no answer (though she's always had one before)
because there's no graspable dream symbol to carry it

yet, she thinks, it's not
as if it's someone else's mind doing
this stonewalling,
and at that, a question starts
droning on through the dream void

unwelcome like the endless dripping of a faucet:
what is it that she simply does not want to hear
