FALL REFLECTIONS (photo) & ANOTHER INQUIRY (mixed format dream poem) by Roswila

ANOTHER INQUIRY

seems the new focus
of reacting to my dreams
with a question
is taking root -- today's inquiry?
why are things so often opposite

this one's quite common:
someone I can't stand is an odd
best friend in a dream
or, as last night, I'm actually cold
and I dream of being too warm

and don't give me that old saw that our sleeping
journeys often serve a compensatory function

whether a friend I don't really like, or being hot
instead of cold, I'm still not at all at ease ...

ah, maybe that's the point: no matter what goes on,
the real problem is insistence on being comfortable

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
