HEART EMERGENT (photo art) & HER HEART (non-dream free verse poem) by Roswila
HER HEART
that first time she welcomed
her heart back home standing awed
and alone beneath a moon bright night
she had no idea her heart would run away
over and over again into the wildest deeps
like a long suffering mustang
to heal on its own
at its own pace
leaving her with nothing
to carry her through
appearing at last far down the path
as it had each time since the first
its new scars shimmering
in the lambent moonlight
like reins of filigree gold
[non-dream free verse poem written in early June 2014. This one reads like a run-on sentence. And I'm leaving it that way, so there! Splitting it into stanzas took something away from it. Maybe I'm just enamored of that breathless feeling, like a running horse. Sometimes I'm willing to sacrifice a format or image (or whatever) I've grown attached to for the good of the overall poem. However, I just didn't find that stanzas helped here, or I would ... maybe. :-) Photo art "Heart Emergent" (4-6-14 002v5) by Roswila]
There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.
