LETTING GO (photo) & ONE QUICK BREATH (dreamku series) by Roswila
ONE QUICK BREATH
the man leaves his wife
for a more “appropriate”
relationship
I’m still angry at him as
I look at living photos
his new wife’s daughter
sparkles with six year-old charm
and clearly quick wits,
by her side infant quintuplets
wiggle, fat and happy
though rather challenged
mentally the four boys
shine with alertness –
the man’s new father role
obviously works for them all
in one quick breath I release my anger
one can’t accept gifts in fisted hands
[three tanka and a two-liner on a dream of 3-19-13. Well, this certainly continues on from the dream monoku I posted yesterday. I did check in with The Tarot, which was helpful but as is often its wont, it was rather non-specific. However, as sometimes happens, that Tarot work seeded this clarifying dream. BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO DREAMKU (& PHOTOS): The dream-based poems posted on this blog -- dreamku, tanka, two-liners, and monoku -- are offered in the spirit of collaboration. I have done my part. Now it’s your turn to jump in and see what comes up for you. I.e., there is no right or wrong way to understand or interpret any of these dream offerings. Even my own understandings of them change over time. And it gives me joy when a reader sees something in any of them that I have not.
