MORPHOGENESIS (photo art) & CHANGING STATES (free verse dream poem) by Roswila

a USA map
appears in the air
but only the outline
of the country
says this is so

the insides
might as well be of Mars
they are so different
(to say the least!)
they're not only
in neon brights but abstract
and they change constantly

what must be the states
spreading and overlapping
like daubs of colors
on a painter's palette
scintillating wetly
(when they're not emerging
out of or slipping back into
a golden brown background,
that is)

one is simply forced
to find another way to relate,
to give up
trying to pin down
any of these changing states

[free verse poem on a dream of 8-9-14. LOL, "states of mind"? "inner states"? Photo art "Morphogenesis" (7-19-14 001v4), made from my photo of a collage of my photos that I recently made the old fashioned way with scissors and tape, by Roswila]

PLEASE NOTE: in most browsers you can click on the above image for a larger version. Also, the photo accompanying a post is not necessarily meant to illustrate it, but to reflect some small, even slant aspect of the verse, similar to Japanese haiga (illustrated haiku).

There are many other sorts of posts on this blog. I indicate which are about or influenced by dreams. Some non dream focused posts are book reviews, "regular" poems (some by other writers, as the above is), scifaiku, writing exercises, Tarot haiku, photos, haiga, and so on. However, most of those are in much older posts. There's a listing by month going back to early 2006, at the end of the sidebar.

until next time, keep dreaming,
