CLEFT (photo) & QUITE A PACKAGE (free verse dream poem) by Roswila
QUITE A PACKAGE
she's all dolled up
sexy's never been her wont
yet here she stands steaming
in a black sheath, platinum wig,
and cleavage baring lace bra
but she wants what she wants
and this is the way to go after it
as she'd known he would
he responds immediately
delighted by her come-on
little does the poor sap know
her interest is only physical
their intimate embrace
with all its heat and fuss
makes no declaration of liking
him at all, and only broadcasts
her final defeat, her giving in
getting what one desires
well, she's finally accepted
it's all about appearances
about how one packages one's self
and she's now quite a package indeed!
[free verse poem on a dream of 8-1-13. I've said this here before across the years but it bears repeating: sexual dreams are not necessarily about sex. As with most dream imagery the sexuality is often a metaphor, and this is true of the above referenced dream. Not that sexuality isn't one of the levels being addressed by it. Just that the more encompassing issue is "getting what one desires" in any aspect of life. I'd like to be able to say this is a very cynical dream and leave it at that. However, it's also a very anxious and sad one beneath the hype. Photo "Cleft" by Roswila]
Also please note that a dreamku is not intended as an interpretation of a dream, or even a complete and accurate rendering of one. A dreamku is my attempt to get down dream imagery/action that grabs me and, as I write about it, elicits my conscious written association and response. Nor do I believe that one has to remember dreams in order for them to do their work. In my understanding, we are much more than our conscious selves.
You may also note in any further reading on dreamku you may do, that in the beginning I stressed "showing, not telling." However, that has been changing for some time now. I now tend to "show" (the dream narrative) and cap if off with a "tell" (some reaction and/or insight I've had to the dream as I was writing about it).
